Dr. Shawn C. Baker is the Chief Science Officer and co-founder of AllSeq – The Sequencing Marketplace. Having received his Ph.D. at the University of California - Davis, he started his career as a Research Scientist at Illumina when it was a 15-person startup. After spending several years at the bench developing gene expression array products, he transitioned to Product Marketing where he led a team in charge of Illumina’s Expression and Regulation sequencing portfolio. Dr. Baker helped found AllSeq in 2013, establishing it as the only true sequencing marketplace that helps researchers pick the best provider for their needs (based on price, technology, turnaround time, etc). AllSeq also maintains the NGS Knowledge Bank, a neutral source of information on the various sequencing technologies, platforms and applications as well as a comprehensive and continually updated list of scientific conferences that focus on next gen sequencing and genomics.
