President Emeritus of Women in Bio

With 29 years of Biotech and Pharmaceutical experience, Debra Bowes started her own consulting firm in 2006, Chevy Chase BioPartners, specializing in Strategic Planning and Licensing for start-up Life Science companies. Prior to consulting she was the Head of New Product Planning for MedImmune where she built a department responsible for supporting the commercial and business planning aspects of MedImmune’s R&D pipeline. Prior to MedImmune Debra held the position of Senior Director, Corporate Development for Amylin Pharmaceuticals. Previously, she spent several years at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in Licensing and New Product Planning with a focus on oncology. From 1995 to 1998, she served as Worldwide Market Manager for Centocor, where she was responsible for managing and expanding licensing agreements with European and Japanese partners. Debra started her pharmaceutical career with Hybritech, Inc where she held various positions in sales, marketing, market research and licensing. Ms. Bowes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Cincinnati and a Medical Technologist (M.T.) certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Debra is a frequent Life Science symposium speaker and has been a Board member and Committee Chair for Women in Bio for several years.
