Dr. Amr currently serves as Director of the Sequencing Core and Assistant Director of the Lab for Molecular Medicine at Partners HealthCare Center for Personalized Genetic Medicine (PCPGM), and holds a faculty position in the Department of Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School (HMS). Sami received his training in clinical molecular genetics at HMS, during which he was directly involved in the development, validation, and implementation of NGS targeted gene panels for clinical diagnostics. In his current dual role at PCPGM, Sami plays a leadership role in leveraging technological advances in next generation sequencing to improve genetic testing for multigenic diseases including cardiomyopathies, hearing loss, and Noonan spectrum disorders.
