
Mr. Tahamtanzadeh has been a business leader in the areas of epigenetics, genomics, pathology laboratory systems and next generation diagnostics for more than 12 years after an earlier 7-year career in research and development in biomarker assay development. Previous to founding PrognosDx, he was Director of Business Development at Ventana Medical Systems, Inc (Acquired by Roche) a leading international diagnostic and therapeutics company. There, Kamran was an instrumental member of the translational diagnostic team and helped successfully negotiate a key partnership with Genentech, Inc. His keen interest in and knowledge of the drug-diagnostic co-development process has led him to become an industry advocate and avid promoter of epigenetic tumor profiling methods that are transforming the face of medicine. He has been a member, donor and a well-known advocate for Bone Marrow Donor Society and has established key relationships with pioneering medical oncologists, institutions and patients dedicated to promotion of scientific progress in understanding the underlying metabolic switches governing the recurrence and progression of cancer. He has also been a presenting entrepreneur, guest speaker and a panelist at various US and International conferences focused on personalized medicine including Silicom Ventures, FountainBlue in the San Francisco Bay-Area and IFPT6 in Beijing, China. Earlier in his career, he held positions in R&D, marketing and business development at leading companies like Microgenics, BoehringerMannheim and Roche Molecular Systems. Through his unique approach to business development focusing on improving patient care and providing advanced tools and technologies to the key players in the industry, Kamran has successfully helped transform many companies including Fisher Scientific, Intergen, Pyrosequencing, IGEN International, MetriGenix, Beckman Coulter and Ventana Medical Systems.
Prior to entry into the life sciences industry he received two undergraduate degrees from UC Berkeley in Molecular & Cellular Biology- Emphasis on Genetics and Near Eastern Literature-Emphasis on Persian Poetry.
