Vivek Bhalla


Vivek Bhalla,Assistant Professor of Medicine / Nephrology at the Stanford University School of Medicine

Dr. Bhalla is an Assistant Professor of Medicine / Nephrology at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and founding director of the Stanford Hypertension Center. After completing medical school in San Diego, Dr. Bhalla completed residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, followed by nephrology at University of California Los Angeles San Francisco where he trained in mechanisms of ion transport with Dr. David Pearce. In his laboratory at Stanford, Dr. Bhalla performs basic and translational research at the intersection of diabetes, hypertension, and renal physiology. Most recently, Dr. Bhalla’s laboratory has begun using single cell RNAseq technology to better understand mechanisms of physiology and pathophysiology in the nephron.
